Well, well, and Wendy must be very happy to have such a nice sister like you. You are a good pair, eh? So, I'll wish Wendy many happy returns of the day, in such good company as you and her Dad and Mom and rest of the gang! And thank the Lord, from Whom all blessings flow ...

Gem-Jam, you better look up what carbuncle means.... I think Wendy wouldn't like her eyes to be flaming carbuncles!! :-D It does sound scary, though...

Ooops. My mistake again... I delved further into this carbuncle mystery and found out it has a meaning other than what I thought..estooo... es que la primera definició que he vist era "an abscess larger than a boil, usually with one or more openings draining pus onto the skin". I és clar, m'he espantat.
:-O But it's also a precious stone... hmmmm. Curious. The nuances of language.

Well, good ol' Gem should know something about Gems! It takes a gem to know another one, eh? ;) This is what Encyclopaedia Britannica has to say:

carbuncle, in mineralogy, a deep red, cabochon-cut almandine, which is an iron aluminum garnet. See almandine.

And:

almandine, either of two semiprecious gemstones: a violet-coloured variety of ruby spinel (q.v.) or iron aluminum garnet, which is most abundant of the garnets. Specimens of the garnet, frequently crystals, contain up to
25 percent grossular or andradite and are commonly brownish red; gem-quality stone is deep red and slightly purple. Almandine, the so-called precious garnet, is most often faceted for rings.
Cabochon-cut (rounded, convex polished surface), deep red almandine is called carbuncle; its base is often hollowed to lighten its colour. When rutile needles are included in the almandine, the cabochons
often show a four-rayed asterism (star-shaped figure). ...

Well, depending on what kind of carbuncle your sister was thinking about, they're bound to be either rather interesting scientificallywise (you might be needing a prescripshun for eye-drops, as a matter of fact)or simply ravishingly beautiful. I vote for the second option. xD

Gem, you do have a tendency to post posts that generate a lot of healthy discussion... keep up the good work. Tee-hee-hee.

Yes, you do manage to keep up some pretty lively conversations...humph...I wish I could have debates go on in my comments! ;)
So sorry Gem...I've been super busy like you and I'll get your letter written real soon :(
Until then...

Don't worry Dustynne... I understand! You must be VERY busy...
I'll try to and grant your wish, Anoymus! I only wish my ideas won't stop short... ;)

No, I'm sure you still have a lot of ideas... And by the way, spell my name correctly, for goodness sakes. It's Anonymous, NOT Anonymus.

I hope you get to go to England this summer... it's exciting to spend some days away from home at a different country, and with all your cousins!!

Wooooooooooooooops! I'm sorry, ANONYMOUS!!! There's actually a mistake! ;)
